It is always the School's goal to remain open to support regular student and family routines, unless it becomes unsafe or unhealthy to do so. If the AQI is projected to reach 200 or more, the School will evaluate and communicate a plan in response, which may include closing the campus for one or more days. Should you decide to keep your child(ren) home because of sensitivity to the air quality, the faculty will extend its full support.

Air Quality Athletics Policy
Head-Royce Athletics adheres to North Coast Section league bylaws which determine whether games and practices are canceled during times of compromised air quality. As a rule, an Air Quality Index of less than 151 must be registered for all high school outdoor athletic events hosted by NCS member schools during preseason, league and section championship events. In keeping with NCS guidelines, our air quality policy for outdoor athletics is as follows:
Practices and games will continue at all times with an AQI in the 0-100 range.
Practices and games may be modified if AQI is over 100.
Practice and games will be canceled if AQI is 150 or higher.
Indoor practices and games may be modified or canceled if AQI is 200 or greater.
