Job Description & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Heads Up Leadership Team to carry out the academic program: curriculum development and implementation, classroom management, and student assessment.
  • Supervise and provide constructive professional feedback to assigned classroom intern teacher.
  • Collaborate with Heads Up Leadership Team to evaluate assigned intern teacher through formalized assessment process.
  • Compose detailed and accurate end-of-summer student narrative reports.
  • Communicate all student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns to the Heads Up Leadership Team.
  • Attend weekly faculty meetings and actively participate in curricular planning discussions.
  • Record assignments, assessments and student work in Google curriculum folders.
  • Participate in all scheduled orientations, trainings, and planning meetings.
  • Fulfill supervisory duties, including, but not limited to: morning break, lunch, and afternoon dismissal. Chaperone students during field trips and off-campus activities.
  • Meet all expectations of professional conduct and serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Ensure classroom is left in the condition it was received at the beginning of the summer.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Heads Up Leadership Team to carry out the academic program: curriculum development and implementation, classroom management, and student assessment. 

  • Support the facilitation of an engaging, effective and happy/healthy learning environment.

  • Where possible, prepare curriculum to be “project based” and provide content for a culminating project to be shared at Open House (virtual or in-person TBD)

  • Supervise and provide constructive professional feedback to assigned counselor.

  • Collaborate with Heads Up Leadership Team to evaluate assigned counselor(s).

  • Compose detailed and accurate end-of-summer student narrative reports to support student growth.

  • Communicate all student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns to the Heads Up Leadership Team.

  • Attend weekly faculty meetings and actively participate in curricular planning discussions.

  • Record assignments, assessments and student work in Google curriculum folders.

  • Participate in all scheduled orientations, training, and planning meetings.

  • Fulfill supervisory duties, including, but not limited to: morning break, lunch, and afternoon dismissal. Chaperone students during field trips and off-campus activities.

  • Participate in and support program-wide events (likely two-three). More details to come as health information evolves. 

  • Meet all expectations of professional conduct and serve as a positive role model for students and counselors .

  • Apply an equity, inclusion and justice to all areas of classroom instruction, including the learning environment and the curriculum 

  • When appropriate, incorporate programmatic themes 

 


Key Information (Please note, the schedule + load) are subject to change slightly according to our admissions process and health and safety guidance evolves. 

Program Dates: Monday, June 13th - Friday, July 8th (no program July 4th)

Mandatory Orientation: more information to come 

Schedule: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - Student Instruction 8:30 am - 12:20 pm Monday - Friday

Weekly Meetings:  all faculty + staff will participate in weekly meetings during their scheduled work time.

Events: There will be a good possibility we will provide some version of some of our events such as the Talent Show, Family Potluck, etc. - we hope faculty will be present to the extent possible, more details will be shared as we get closer.
