Affinity Groups at HRS
Dani Moseley

In the past week, there has been some confusion and concern within our wider community about the status and future of the longstanding racial affinity groups at HRS. Please be assured that the Black Student Union and Latinos Unidos have not folded. We affirm that HRS leadership is deeply committed to ensuring that these critical spaces for students of color remain a vital part of student life.

Administrators, faculty, and students are working diligently and collaboratively to address recent concerns raised within our affinity groups. Ultimately, we seek to support the needs of our advisors and, importantly, our students. Our ideals of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are not simply strategic goals committed to paper; we are working to ensure that they are authentically expressed in and out of the classroom every day. We invite you to delve more deeply into some of our recent efforts in this area by visiting our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion webpage.
