‑Royce made a commitment to Oakland.The Heads Up Program was founded on the belief that a great school doesn't exist in isolation from its city — and that the talent and potential in Oakland's public schools deserve the same opportunities as anyone else.
Nearly four decades later, that commitment shows up every summer when more than 100 students from Oakland Unified arrive on the Head‑Royce campus for a tuition-free, multi-year program designed to set them up for academic success, leadership, and college.
Heads Up is free for every student it serves. That's only possible because of donors who believe, as we do, that where you grow up shouldn't determine how far you go.
