There's a big difference between teaching an academic curriculum and teaching someone to love learning.   It was at HRS where I learned to love learning. My favorite books were taught by HRS teachers; my favorite philosophers I learned in my senior elective.  When I got to college I noticed that everyone knew how to get good grades, but only some people had intellectual curiosity and truly loved learning for its own sake; that fork in development had happened at a much earlier age.  Love of learning is the most foundational gift you can give anyone, with a never-ending impact.
