Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Head-Royce School, comprised of current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents and community members who bring strategic expertise from a variety of professions. Board members typically serve 2-3 three-year terms in the following main capacities
Fiduciaries: Trustees serve as stewards of the School’s resources, including people, facilities, and financial assets.
Strategists: The Board sets the long-range, strategic direction of the School, side-by-side with the Head of School, in addition to supporting and evaluating the Head of School.
Ambassadors: Trustees embody and convey the School’s mission and core values.
Trustees serve on various working committees that focus on strategic initiatives for the long-term health of the School, including finance, investment, audit, diversity, facilities, community relations, student life, master plan, development, and governance.
Nomination Process
We welcome self and peer nominations for the Head-Royce School Board of Trustees.
The Board is made up of 25 volunteer members. Each year, our Committee on Trustees runs an annual process to recruit a handful of new Trustees to fill anticipated vacancies, ensuring that the Board includes a balance of perspectives and professional expertise to support the School.
