Head-Royce Summer Camp

We’re thrilled to welcome campers back for the full return of the classic Head-Royce School Summer Camp, where learning and fun truly go hand in hand! After two years without our academic programming, this season marks an especially exciting moment for our community. Each day will be filled with opportunities for students to explore new interests, build confidence, and enjoy time outdoors while creating lasting memories alongside peers and counselors dedicated to making every experience engaging, enriching, and joyful.

Grounded in our mission to develop students of character, intellect, and creativity, the Head-Royce Summer Camp blends academic enrichment with joyful exploration. Through hands-on projects and shared experiences, students strengthen literacy, math, and critical thinking skills while building community, making connections, and embracing meaningful challenges that nurture their intellectual growth.

Literacy

Our literacy program strengthens essential reading and writing skills while keeping learning engaging and fun. Students reinforce phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary through small-group instruction, interactive read-alouds, and guided practice. They will also build confidence as writers through creative storytelling, reader’s theater, and hands-on literacy projects. By blending skill reinforcement with exciting activities, we help students grow as readers and writers while enjoying the process.

Mathematics

In math, students review and strengthen foundational skills such as number sense, problem-solving, and math fact fluency in a supportive environment. Lessons are designed to reinforce key grade-level concepts while building confidence and accuracy. Through math games, collaborative challenges, and real-world projects, students see how math connects to everyday life. Our goal is to solidify skills, spark curiosity, and make math both meaningful and fun.

Science + Gardening

Our science program encourages curiosity and exploration while reinforcing important scientific concepts and thinking skills. Students participate in hands-on experiments, interactive investigations, and engaging STEM projects that bring learning to life. As part of the program, students will also explore gardening—planting seeds, observing growth, and learning about plant life cycles and ecosystems. Through these meaningful, real-world experiences, students strengthen observation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while discovering the joy of science.
