MIDDLE & UPPER SCHOOL POSITIONS 

Middle School History (grades 7 & 8), Spring 2011 (January-April 2011)

Responsibilities

This is a position with teaching responsibilities for four sections of history at the 7th (American) and 8th grade (World History with a focus on Latin American and Africa) levels.  Additionally, we are looking for candidates who can work collaboratively with grade level partners, implement developmentally appropriate pedagogy to support Middle School learning, and support our School’s mission in the areas of multiculturalism and ecological literacy. Candidates should possess experience teaching history at the Middle School level.

Faculty also serve as advisors, run activities and work with students in study labs.  The School seeks applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in multicultural education, an understanding of adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with students.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will posses a BA and advanced degrees/certification are desirable.  Teaching experience at the middle school level is essential.

SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS

Responsibilities
Substitute teachers are needed in all three divisions, K-12. In Lower School, substitute teachers are needed who can teach core subject areas of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. In Middle and Upper School, substitutes are needed in the following subject areas: World Language (Latin, French, Spanish and Chinese), Math, English, Social Studies, Science and Fine/Performing Arts.

We are searching for substitutes who have experience managing a class and following lesson plans. The School seeks applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in multicultural education, an understanding of children and adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with students.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a BA and possibly a teaching credential or advanced degree. Teaching experience is helpful.

Salary/Benefits
Substitutes are paid $125 for a full day.
