Head-Royce Annual Fund

The Head-Royce Annual Fund is our top annual fundraising priority because it helps close the gap between tuition revenue and the cost of operating the school. It provides vital flexibility in order to direct resources to the areas of greatest need and maximum benefit. With your help we are able to employ and retain truly gifted faculty, maintain extraordinary facilities, create extracurricular activities throughout the year, and fund more than 250 need-based scholarships that ensure the school’s socio-economic diversity.

All gifts, whether large or small, have an immediate impact and are greatly appreciated.

Annual Fund FAQ's

What is the Annual Fund and how will my gift be used?

A contribution to the Annual Fund is the most important gift you can make to the school.

Tuition covers approximately 80% of the actual cost of operating the school. The Annual Fund helps fill the gap between what tuition covers, and the true cost of education our students. Annual Fund support is used in the current year to support current programs.

Gifts to the Annual Fund keep the Head-Royce engine running, including support for the following:

  • A challenging age-appropriate academic program with great breadth and depth
  • Attracting and retaining inspired, dedicated, and knowledgeable faculty
  • Providing faculty with a variety of opportunities for professional growth which in turn enhances the classroom experience
  • Need-based scholarship support to attract the most qualified and promising students
  • Participation and excellence in athletics to instill a lifelong appreciation for fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Resources for a variety of visual and performing arts including dance, chorus, orchestra, digital media arts, sculpture, ceramics and more
  • Enhancement and care for buildings, grounds, and play areas
  • Innovation and support for the use of technology in the classroom (ipads in Kindergarten!)

I am a current parent, why is my participation important?

Because every student is touched by gifts to the Annual Fund the school strongly believes that every family should contribute. Every aspect of the school depends upon the success of our annual campaign. Foundations and other major donors often use parent participation in annual giving to gauge the level of parental support of the school.

Families are asked to make a meaningful gift in keeping with their family’s circumstances. Head-Royce is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and donations to the Annual Fund are fully tax deductible (unlike tuition).

I am an alumni, why is my participation important?

Alumni tell us that their time at Head-Royce was transformative. Just as Annual Fund gifts supported your education in your years at Head-Royce, your gift supports today’s students as they embark on their journey. Alumni gifts to the Annual Fund help sustain the hallmarks of a Head-Royce education and signal to outside supporters that you truly value your Head-Royce experience.

What if I cannot afford to make a large gift?

Regardless of your resources, a gift of any size to the Annual Fund helps provide that extra edge of excellence that is evident across all of our program areas. Widespread community support inspires others to give, including major donors and foundations.

How do I make a gift to The Annual Fund?

Head-Royce accepts gifts of cash, checks and stock, as well as Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Credit card gifts can be made online.
