Barbara Gee is a long time resident of Oakland and has been a member of the Head-Royce community for over 35 years. She began as a Lower School teacher and later taught math and drama in the Middle and Upper Schools. She is presently a full-time administrator serving as the K-8 Admissions and Financial Aid Assistant Director and Director of Diversity. She is also one of the founders of the School's Heads Up community outreach program and while no longer its program director, she remains actively involved as a Heads Up Advisory Board Member. Barbara was the first recipient of the Michael Traynor Family Award for outstanding service to the school and has served as the faculty moderator. She received her A.B. in sociology and teaching credential from the University of California at Berkeley. Barbara and her husband of 30+ years, the Honorable Judge Gordon Baranco, have two children: Lauren, a graduate of Columbia University and post-graduate of NYU; and Brandon, a junior at the University of California at Merced. .
